CNN is running a story titled "Evangelical leader calls for boycott of Fox personality Glenn Beck". The article is at
http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/03/12/beck.boycott/ and the theological issues discussed in it are to me really interesting. A wide range of views ranging from Jim Wallis to Jerry Falwell JR, all in response to Glenn Beck's apparent call for Christians to leave churches that preach economic and social justice (I haven't heard him first-hand, just what the article says). Wallis has called for a boycott of Beck's show. I think this creates another larger "teachable moment" in public dialog about what Christianity and the Bible are and are not saying, and about how one determines that. Exegesis meets entertainment.
